Chef -Carvery

38 hours per week – including weekends

We are looking for a person with a passion and flair for the restaurant and catering industry. This is a very hands on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and results driven with good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast paced environment. Experience in a similar role in a similar environment is essential.

Duties include:

Prepare, cook and present food quickly and efficiently to a high standard
Work safely around the kitchen equipment
Maintain accurate food ordering and stock levels
Assist in keeping the kitchen clean, hygienic and tidy at all times
Monitor portion size and waste
Preparation of carvery
Cleaning of carvery

Skills needed:

Experience of working in a kitchen
Knowledge of carvery
Excellent communication skills and able to work as part of a team
Knowledge of HACCP
Knowledge of allergens, meat weights and portion control
Professionalism and reliability.
Remains calm under pressure
Good time management
Level 2 basic food hygiene

Job Type:

The successful candidate must be able to cover shifts and be able to adapt to both kitchen and front of house when needed.  As a family run business we understand the importance of work/ life balance so our working hours for chefs mean no evening work or split shifts are required.

Assistant Restaurant Manager

Full Time hours per week -Including Weekends

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager who has a passion for creating excellent food as well as good organisational skills. You will have proven capabilities for running a successful restaurant/kitchen and promoting excellent customer service.  You must be enthusiastic and wish to pro-actively develop the business. This is a hands-on role where teamwork and communication are vital.

The main function of the Assistant Restaurant Manager is to oversee staff, ensure that the business operation runs smoothly and handle escalated customer queries and grievances.  In addition, you will perform the duties and responsibilities for the Restaurant Manager in their absence.

Candidate needs to have experience as an Assistant Manager

Duties Include:

Organising team schedules and handling staff issues
Interviewing, hiring, and training new employees
Evaluating employee performance and providing training and guidance as required
Stock rotation and ordering
Food hygiene
Menu planning
Cash handling

Maintaining excellent standards of guest service.
To establish and maintain the highest standards of hygiene and Health & Safety in accordance with all statutory, legal and company requirements.

Requirements of the Role:

Previous experience working in a busy hospitality venue
Thorough understanding of allergens and food safety
Excellent communication skills and able to work as part of a team
Strong IT & communication skills
Flexible in terms of days and hours worked to meet business demands
Solid leadership qualities with an ability to engage with a large team to drive service and standards
Knowledge of HACCP
Professionalism and reliability
Remains calm under pressure
Good time management
Level 2 basic food hygiene

Compost Assistant

Full Time –30 hours per week –  Including weekends

Till Assistant

Part Time –28 hours per week -including Weekends

We are currently looking for a Till Assistant to work in our fast paced and very customer focused Centre. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, approachable and have excellent people skills with a positive “can do” attitude plus a keen eye for detail.

This is a very hands on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and have good communication skills. Previous retail/customer service experience preferred, however full training will be provided where necessary.

Cleaners

Part Time –16-20 hours per week – including weekends

We are currently looking to recruit Part-Time Cleaners at our Garden Centre.  Your main duties will be the cleaning and maintenance of the toilet blocks and the hoovering and mopping of the main Restaurant floors.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

Cleaning and maintaining restaurant and customer toilets.
Ensuring all areas are cleaned to a high standard
Customer service
Be responsible for cleaning materials and stock.
Re-order cleaning stock when required.
