Assistant Restaurant Manager

(Full Time – 35-45 hours per week – including weekends)

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager who has a passion for creating excellent food as well as good organisational skills. You will have proven capabilities for running a successful restaurant/kitchen and promoting excellent customer service.  You must be enthusiastic and wish to pro-actively develop the business. This is a hands-on role where teamwork and communication are vital.

The main function of the Assistant Restaurant Manager is to oversee staff, ensure that the business operation runs smoothly and handle escalated customer queries and grievances.  In addition, you will perform the duties and responsibilities for the Restaurant Manager in their absence.

Duties Include:

Organising team schedules and handling staff issues
Interviewing, hiring and training new employees
Evaluating employee performance and providing training and guidance as required
Stock rotation and ordering
Food hygiene
Menu planning
Cash handling
Maintaining excellent standards of guest service.
To establish and maintain the highest standards of hygiene and Health & Safety in accordance with all statutory, legal and company requirements.

Requirements of the Role:

 Previous experience working in a busy hospitality venue
Thorough understanding of allergens and food safety
Excellent communication skills and able to work as part of a team
Strong IT & communication skills
Flexible in terms of days and hours worked to meet business demands
Solid leadership qualities with an ability to engage with a large team to drive service and standards
Knowledge of HACCP
Professionalism and reliability
Remains calm under pressure
Good time management
Level 2 basic food hygiene

Landscape Supervisor

 (Full Time – 40 hours per week – including weekends)

We are looking for a Landscape Supervisor to work in this fast paced and very customer focused Centre. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, approachable and have excellent people skills with a positive “can do” attitude plus a keen eye for detail.

The successful candidate should be physically fit as this is a very hands on role and some heavy lifting will be involved.  Forklift truck license would be an advantage although not essential as training will be given.

Experience in building or similar retail experience is preferred.

Duties will include:

Maintain hard landscape department of slabs, gravels, fencing and wooden buildings
Maintain stock levels
Placing orders
Liaising with Sales Reps
Assisting customer with lifting their purchases to their cars
Till operation
Assisting in all areas of garden centre as required

Delivery Driver

(Full Time – 34 hours per week – including weekends)

 We are currently seeking a Delivery Driver to join our large Garden Centre Group.  The successful candidate will be expected to complete home deliveries so should be physically fit as this is a very hands on role and you will need to handle large and heavy loads. Experience in retail is essential to the role as is good customer service.  Full clean driving license essential.  The role will be based at Woodthorpe but you will also be doing deliveries for our garden centre at Louth.

Duties will include:

Loading of customer orders on the van in a safe and timely manner ensuring products are wrapped and secured efficiently.
Planning of routes beforehand.
Stock/fixture transfers between stores when required.
Maintenance and due diligence checks of delivery van.
Other duties as required around the Centre

Requirements of the role:

 Hold a full, clean driving licence
Be fully flexible in terms of hours/days worked to meet the business needs.
Be experienced in a retail environment
Have a friendly and positive attitude, providing a great customer experience at point of delivery
Have good organisational skills.
Excellent customer service skills

Grounds Maintenance Assistant

(Full Time - 34 hours per week – including weekends)

We are currently seeking a Grounds Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Woodthorpe Garden Centre.  Working in a very busy garden centre this is a very varied position. The successful candidate should be physically fit as this is a very hands on role. Some experience in general maintenance is essential to the role as is good customer service.

Duties include:

 General grounds maintenance
Cutting hedges and grass verges
Planting borders
Strimming
Maintaining and re-planting tubs
Small repairs
Assisting in the garden centre during busy times

The successful candidate will:

 Be experienced in a retail environment
Have good customer care skills
Be professional and reliable
Able to prioritise work
Good time management skills

Chef / Cook

(Full Time – 40 hours per week – including weekends – no evening work)

We are looking for a  Chef / Cook who has a passion and flair for the restaurant and catering industry. This is a very hands on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and results driven with good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast paced environment. Experience in a similar role in a similar environment is essential. A good working knowledge of till systems is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

Please note you will need to be flexible as you will be required to work weekends and bank holidays but no evening work is required.

Duties include:

Prepare, cook and present food quickly and efficiently to a high standard
Work safely around the kitchen equipment
Maintain accurate food ordering and stock levels
Assist in keeping the kitchen clean, hygienic and tidy at all times
Monitor portion size and waste

Skills needed:

Experience of working in a busy commercial kitchen
Excellent communication skills
Able to work as part of a team or on own initiative
Creative at making dishes but also able to work to specs
Baking cakes and other home bakes would be an advantage
Knowledge of HACCP
Able to manage multiple orders
Professional and reliable
Remain calm under pressure
Good time management
Level 2 basic food hygiene

Job Type:

The successful candidate must be able to cover shifts and be able to adapt to both kitchen and front of house when needed.  As a family run business we understand the importance of work/ life balance so our working hours for cooks mean no evening work or split shifts are required.

Front of House Assistant

(Full Time - 35-40 hours per week – including weekends)

(Part Time - 16-30 hours per week – including weekends)

We are looking for Front of House Assistants who have a passion and flair for the restaurant and catering industry.  This is a very hands on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and results driven with good communication skills.
