Restaurant Supervisor

(Full Time – 35 hours per week – including weekends)

We are looking for a Restaurant Supervisor who has a passion and flair for the restaurant and catering industry.  This is a very hands on role and as such you will need to work to a very high standard and be proactive, highly motivated, organised and results driven with good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast paced environment.

Previous experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality industry is essential.  You should also have relevant kitchen experience as well as Front of House and Back of House skills.

You will be required to work some weekends and bank holidays and must be flexible during busy holiday periods. There are no evenings or split shifts.

Duties include:

To establish and maintain excellent standards of guest service
Manage small team of staff
Assist with stock taking
Plan staff rotas
Adhere to company policies and ensure that these are fully communicated to all team members
To establish and maintain the highest standards of hygiene in accordance with Health & Safety

Skills required:

Excellent customer service skills
Strong FoH and BoH skills
Able to work on one’s own initiative
Barista experience desirable
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness
Level 2 Basic Food Hygiene
Adhering to company policies

Front of House Assistant

(Part Time – 12 hours per week – including weekends)

Temp contract of 3 months available

We are looking for a person with a passion and flair for the restaurant and catering industry.  This is a very hands on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and results driven with good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast paced environment.

Previous experience is not necessary as full training will be given.

You will need be fully flexible as will involve weekend and bank holiday working.

Duties include:

Waiting tables
Taking customer orders
Serving food
Making hot drinks
Till operation
Clearing and cleaning duties
Adhering to company policies

Skills required:

Pot Washer

(Part Time – 18 hours per week – including weekends)

We are currently looking for a Pot Washer to join our busy Kitchen at Stanway Garden Centre.   Experience in a similar position is beneficial, however we are looking for somebody who is hard working and committed. Training will be given to the right candidate.

Working mainly in the pot wash area you will be accountable for the cleaning of the kitchen and using the pot wash, as well as following cleaning checklists.

Duties include:

 Pot wash.
Stacking dirty trays.
General housekeeping duties.
Replacing clean crockery.
Keeping pot wash clean and tidy.
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness
Adhering to company policies

Requirements of the Role:

 Experience of working in a busy kitchen.
Able to work on own initiative or as part of a team
Good communication skills

Admin Supervisor

(Full Time – 32 hours per week – including weekends)

We are currently looking for an Admin Supervisor to work in this fast paced and very customer focused Centre. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, approachable and have excellent people skills with a positive “can do” attitude plus a keen eye for detail.

This is a very hands-on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and have good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Duties include:

Booking in orders
Liaising and raising credits with suppliers
Dealing with the in-house banking system
Approving invoices
Dealing with returns and wastages, stock control
Maintaining and keeping EPOS system accurate
Helping with recruitment and induction paperwork
Audit compliance and inventory control
Maintaining and monitoring of Health and Safety in accordance with statutory Legal and Compliance policies
Payroll duties

Knowledge and Skills:

Good attention to detail
Methodical and able to work at pace
Ability to work to procedures
Good communicator
Computer literate with good administration skills
Experience in Excel
Ability to prioritise workload
Flexible and trustworthy
Alphabetically and numerically literate

Goods In Assistant

(Part Time – 24 hours per week –including weekends)

Temporary Contract - 3 months

We are currently looking for a temporary Goods In Assistant to work in this fast paced and very customer focused Centre. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, approachable and have excellent people skills with a positive “can do” attitude plus a keen eye for detail.

This is a very hands-on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and have good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.  The successful candidate should be physically fit as some heaving lifting may be required.  Previous work with forklifts would also be an advantage.

Duties include:

To check goods in against delivery notes for accuracy and damages
Notify the relevant Department via the Delivery Note of any shortages
Notify relevant Department of any damaged goods received and place in the Quarantine section, awaiting further instruction
Assist when required with the physical movement of stock from the Goods In area to the warehouse and/or packing and putting away stock
Ensure all stock movements are accurately recorded
Stock take and stock control
Perform deliveries
Booking in deliveries to the Centre

Knowledge and Skills:

Must have previous relevant experience
Good attention to detail
Methodical and able to work at pace
Ability to work to procedures
Good communicator
PC literate with good administration skills
Experienced in manual handling
Ability to prioritise workload
Flexible and trustworthy
Alphabetically and numerically literate

Plant Assistant

(Part Time –24 hours per week – Including weekends)

Temporary 16 weeks

 We are currently seeking a Plant Assistant to join our horticulture team at Stanway Garden Centre.

Working in the plant area this is a high volume environment with a fast turnaround. The successful candidate should be physically fit as this is a very hands on role. Some retail experience would be preferred but it is more important that you are friendly and hard working.

You should have an interest in gardening and horticulture and enjoy working outside in all weathers.

Main Duties:

Plant maintenance and care
Plant watering
Helping customers with their purchases including giving advice
Pricing, displaying & merchandising a variety of products
Replenishing stock
Quality customer service.
General daily housekeeping

Requirements of the Role:

Must be able to follow instructions and work outside in all weathers
You will have a right first-time approach and a can-do attitude
Good communication skills and able to work as part of a team
Work well under pressure
Professionalism and reliability
