Front of House Assistant

(Full Time – 30 hours per week – including weekends)

We are looking for Front of House Assistants who have a passion and flair for the restaurant and catering industry.  This is a very hands-on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and results driven with good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Previous experience in a similar role in a similar environment is essential.  A good working knowledge of till systems is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

You will need be fully flexible as this will involve weekend and bank holiday working.

Duties include:

Waiting tables
Taking customer orders
Serving food
Making hot drinks
Till operation
Clearing and cleaning duties
Adhering to company policies

Skills required:

Excellent customer service skills
Able to work on own initiative or as part of a team
Good communication skills
Professional and reliable
Remain calm under pressure
Fully flexible with days and hours worked to meet business needs

 Chef

 (Part Time – 16-24 hours per week – including weekends)

We are looking for a Chef who has a passion and flair for the restaurant and catering industry. This is a very hands-on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and results driven with good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Experience in a similar role in a similar environment is essential. A good working knowledge of till systems is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

Duties include:

Prepare, cook, and present food quickly and efficiently to a high standard
Work safely around the kitchen equipment
Maintain accurate food ordering and stock levels
Assist in keeping the kitchen clean, hygienic and tidy at all times
Monitor portion size and waste

Skills needed:

Experience of working in a busy kitchen
Thorough understanding of allergens and food safety
Hands on cooking
Excellent communication skills and able to work as part of a team
Creative at making dishes but also able to work to specs
Baking cakes and other home bakes would be an advantage
Knowledge of HACCP
Able to manage multiple orders
Professionalism and reliability
Remains calm under pressure
Good time management
Level 2 basic food hygiene

Plant Manager

(Full Time – 40 hours per week - including weekends)

We are looking for a Plant Manager to join our forward-thinking team. Working in the plant area is a high-volume environment with a fast turnaround. The successful candidate should be physically fit as this is a very hands-on role. A good knowledge of plants is essential to the role as is good customer service and a high standard of visual merchandising.

The successful candidate will possess either a horticultural qualification, will be in training or had practical horticultural experience.

Duties include:

Actively working in the daily horticultural tasks of the Centre.
Assisting the Centre Manager to maximise sales and profit by ensuring the efficient and effective management to Company standards, of the commerciality, merchandising, replenishment and housekeeping across the Garden Centre.
Establish and maintain high horticultural and retail standards.
Manage and support overall plant health within the Centre.
Lead and motivate the staff in their team.
Manage stock control of the department.
Support Centre Manager in daily H&S tasks and paperwork, ensuring Health & Safety standards are always adhered to and maintained.
Generate ideas and assist in the development of even better methods of working within the department.
Help to achieve a high standard of customer service.
Assist with complaints and queries from staff and customers.
Assist where needed with the recruitment, training, development and individual performance of staff within the Centre to a high standard.
Carry out additional duties as and when required such as managing store and to attend events in the absence of the Centre Manger.
Assist when needed to effectively and efficiently plan and manage key events such as Christmas, Bank Holidays and Season Centre change.
