Plant Assistant

(Full Time – 40 hours per week - including weekends)

We are currently looking for a Plant Assistant to work in this fast paced, exciting and very customer focused Centre. You will be highly motivated, approachable and have excellent people skills with a positive “can do” attitude, plus a keen eye for detail.

The successful candidate should be physically fit as this is a very hands on role. Experience in retail is desirable to the role as is good customer service.

The successful candidate will preferably have some plant knowledge and experience.

Duties will include:

Pricing, displaying & merchandising stock
Replenishing stock
Keeping all areas tidy
Daily care and maintenance of plants
Watering plants
Customer service
Assisting customers with their purchases and queries
Adhering to company policies
General housekeeping

Plant Supervisor

(Full Time – 40-45 hours per week - including weekends)

We are currently seeking a candidate to join our horticultural team at Osterley Garden Centre.

Working in the plant area this is a high volume environment with a fast turnaround. The successful candidate should be physically fit as this is a very hands on role and some heavy lifting may be required. A good knowledge of plants is essential to the role as is good customer service and a high standard of visual merchandising.

Knowledge and experience of plants/horticulture is essential to the role.

Main Duties:

Managing a team of staff
Planning staff rotas.
Plant maintenance and care
Pricing, displaying & merchandising a variety of products
Giving guidance and advice to customers with their purchases
Adhering to company policies.
Quality customer service
General daily housekeeping

Skills required:

Good communication skills and able to work as part of a team

Till Supervisor

(Full Time – 39 hours per week – including weekends)

We are currently looking for a full time Till Supervisor to work in this fast paced and very customer focused Centre. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, approachable and have excellent people skills with a positive “can do” attitude plus a keen eye for detail.

This is a very hands on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and have good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast paced environment.  Full training will be provided where necessary.

Duties will include:

Manage a small team of staff
Draw up staff rotas
Reconciling/balancing tills and floats
Helping customers with their purchases
Quality customer service
General daily housekeeping at the Centre

Skills Required:

Must have experience of managing a till system
Have managed a team of staff
Have excellent numerical, organisational skills

Goods In Assistant

(Full Time – 32 hours per week – including weekends)

Temporary Contract - 4 months

We are currently looking for a temporary Goods In Assistant to work in this fast paced and very customer focused Centre. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, approachable and have excellent people skills with a positive “can do” attitude plus a keen eye for detail.

This is a very hands on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and have good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast paced environment.  The successful candidate should be physically fit as some heaving lifting may be required.  Previous work with forklifts would also be an advantage.

Duties include:

To check goods in against delivery notes for accuracy and damages
Notify the relevant Department via the Delivery Note of any shortages
Notify relevant Department of any damaged goods received and place in the Quarantine section, awaiting further instruction
Assist when required with the physical movement of stock from the Goods In area to the warehouse and/or packing and putting away stock
Ensure all stock movements are accurately recorded
Stock take and stock control
Perform deliveries
Booking in deliveries to the Centre

Knowledge and Skills:

Must have previous relevant experience
Good attention to detail
Methodical and able to work at pace
Ability to work to procedures
Good communicator
PC literate with good administration skills
Experienced in manual handling
Ability to prioritise workload
Flexible and trustworthy
Alphabetically and numerically literate
Must be flexible in terms of hours and days worked.

Seasonal Department Supervisor

(Full Time – 39 hours per week – including weekends)

We are currently looking for a full time Seasonal Department Supervisor to work in this fast paced and very customer focused Centre. Working in a busy retail environment within the garden centre the successful candidate will be highly motivated, approachable and have excellent people skills. You will have a positive “can do” attitude plus a keen eye for detail.

Please note that you will be required to work weekends and bank holidays.

Duties will include:

Setting up the Christmas department in store including displays and managing the individual areas
Reverting back to furniture department post Christmas
Pricing, displaying & merchandising of a variety of products
Quality customer service
General daily housekeeping
Management of a small number of staff
Dealing with customers both in person and on the phone
Updating department rotas
Administration using the online stock ordering system

Restaurant Supervisor

(Full Time – 39 hours per week – including weekends)

We are looking for a Restaurant Supervisor who has a passion and flair for the restaurant and catering industry.  This is a very hands on role and as such you will need to work to a very high standard and be proactive, highly motivated, organised and results driven with good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast paced environment.

Previous experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality industry is essential.  You should also have relevant kitchen experience as well as Front of House and Back of House skills.

You will be required to work some weekends and bank holidays and must be flexible during busy holiday periods. There are no evenings or split shifts.

Duties include:

To establish and maintain excellent standards of guest service
Manage small team of staff
Assist with stock taking
Plan staff rotas
Adhere to company policies and ensure that these are fully communicated to all team members
To establish and maintain the highest standards of hygiene in accordance with Health & Safety

Skills required:

Excellent customer service skills
Strong FoH and BoH skills
Able to work on one’s own initiative
Barista experience desirable
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness
Level 2 Basic Food Hygiene
Adhering to company policies
