Plant Supervisor

(Full Time – 39 hours per week - including weekends)

We are currently seeking a candidate to join our horticultural team at Osterley Garden Centre.

Working in the plant area this is a high volume environment with a fast turnaround. The successful candidate should be physically fit as this is a very hands on role and some heavy lifting may be required. A good knowledge of plants is essential to the role as is good customer service and a high standard of visual merchandising.

Knowledge and experience of plants/horticulture is essential to the role.

Main Duties:

Managing a team of staff
Planning staff rotas.
Plant maintenance and care
Pricing, displaying & merchandising a variety of products
Giving guidance and advice to customers with their purchases
Adhering to company policies.
Quality customer service
General daily housekeeping

Skills required:

Good communication skills and able to work as part of a team
Work well under pressure
Professionalism and reliability
Good time management
Excellent customer service skills
Highly motivated and enthusiastic with a drive to succeed
Able to work using own initiative
Flexible working hours to meet the business needs.

Plant Assistants

(Part Time – 30 hours per week - including weekends)

We are currently looking for a 2 x Plant Assistants to work in this fast paced, exciting and very customer focused Centre. You will be highly motivated, approachable and have excellent people skills with a positive “can do” attitude, plus a keen eye for detail.

The successful candidate should be physically fit as this is a very hands on role. Experience in retail is desirable to the role as is good customer service.

The successful candidate will preferably have some plant knowledge and experience.

Duties will include:

Pricing, displaying & merchandising stock
Replenishing stock
Keeping all areas tidy
Daily care and maintenance of plants
Watering plants
Customer service
Assisting customers with their purchases and queries
Adhering to company policies
General housekeeping

Requirements of the role:
