Nursery Site Supervisor

(Full Time – 40 hours per week – including alternate weekends)

 We are currently looking for a Nursery Site Supervisor to join our team at our Fretherne Nursery in Gloucester.  You will be managing a small team of plant despatch staff which is is a high volume environment with a fast turnaround. The successful candidate should be physically fit as this is a very hands on role. Some retail experience would be preferred as well as staff management capabilities.

You should have an interest in gardening and horticulture and enjoy working outside in all weathers.  Holding a current fork lift truck license would be an advantage but training will be given.

Main Duties include:

Manage small team of plant despatch staff
Ensure all aspects of day to day operation of the nursery are managed
Process weekly stock takes.
Ensure all Health & Safety standards are adhered to
Maintain all reporting and admin duties.

Requirements of the Role:

Previous retail and staff management experience
You will have a right first-time approach and a can-do attitude
Good communication skills
Work well under pressure
Professionalism and reliability
Good time management
Highly motivated and enthusiastic with a drive to succeed
Able to work using own initiative
Current clean driving license

Plant Despatcher/Nursery Worker

(Full Time – 40 hours per week – including alternate weekends)

 We are currently looking for 3 x Plant Despatchers/Nursery Workers to join our team at our Fretherne Nursery in Gloucester.  You will be part of our plant preparation and despatch team which is is a high volume environment with a fast turnaround. The successful candidates should be physically fit as this is a very hands on role. Some retail experience would be preferred but it is more important that you are friendly and hard working.

You should have an interest in gardening and horticulture and enjoy working outside in all weathers.  Holding a current fork lift truck license would be an advantage but training will be given.

Main Duties include:

Preparing plants for despatch
Loading/unloading lorries
Processing the transfer of plants
Printing despatch notes.
General daily housekeeping

Requirements of the Role:

Must be able to follow instructions and work outside in all weathers
You will have a right first-time approach and a can-do attitude
Good communication skills and able to work as part of a team

Buying Support - Plants

(Full Time – 40 hours per week - occasional weekends)

We are currently looking for someone to work at our Fretherne Nursery in our Buyers department providing support in the Houseplants category.  This is a new and exciting role working in one of the fastest growing departments within British Garden Centres.  You will be working closely with the Buying Manager for Houseplants to ensure that this category continues to grow.   You will be highly motivated, approachable and have excellent people skills with a positive “can do” attitude, plus a keen eye for detail.

The successful candidate will be expected to travel around the country in order to visit different Centres helping to deliver the department set up and coaching team members.  This will include occasional nights away from home for which expenses will be reimbursed.

A passion for garden/house plants would be an advantage and retail experience is preferable.  You will be working Monday to Friday with occasional weekend working to cover holidays and peak trading. A good understanding of computers is required including Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).

Duties will include:

Sales analysis
Stock allocation
Administration duties
Visiting Centres
