General Assistants

(Part Time –16 hours per week – including weekends)

Temporary contracts of 3 months

We are currently looking a temporary General Assistant to join our large Garden Centre Group. As an integral part of the team you will work in all areas of the Centre.  The successful candidates should be physically fit as this is a very hands on role. Experience in retail is desirable to the role as is good customer service, however, full training will be provided where necessary.

Duties include:

Pricing, displaying & merchandising a variety of products
Assisting customers with their purchases
Till operation
Plant care and maintenance
Plant watering
General housekeeping
Quality customer service

Requirements of the role:

Must be fully flexible and able to work weekends, cover shifts and occasional late nights
You will have a right first-time approach and a can-do attitude
Good communication skills and able to work as part of a team
Work well under pressure
Professional and reliable
Good time management
Excellent customer service skills
Highly motivated and enthusiastic with a drive to succeed
Able to work using own initiative

Line Cooks

(1 x full Time 35 hours per week – including weekends)

(2 x Part Time 16 hours per week – Including weekends)

We are looking for a person with a passion and flair for the restaurant and catering industry. This is a very hands on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and results driven with good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast paced environment. Experience in a similar role in a similar environment is essential. A good working knowledge of till systems is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

Duties include:

Prepare, cook and present food quickly and efficiently to a high standard
Work safely around the kitchen equipment
Maintain accurate food ordering and stock levels
Assist in keeping the kitchen clean, hygienic and tidy at all times
Monitor portion size and waste

Skills needed:

Experience of working in a busy kitchen
Excellent communication skills and able to work as part of a team
Creative at making dishes but also able to work to specs
Baking cakes and other home bakes would be an advantage
Experience of cooking carvery
Knowledge of HACCP
Able to manage multiple orders
Professionalism and reliability
Remain calm under pressure
Good time management
Level 2 basic food hygiene

Job Type:

The successful candidate must be able to cover shifts and be able to adapt to both kitchen and front of house when needed.  As a family run business, we understand the importance of work/ life balance so our working hours for cooks mean no evening work or split shifts are required.

Kitchen Assistant

(Part Time – 18 hours per week – including weekends)

 We are looking for a full time Kitchen Assistant who has a passion and flair for the restaurant and catering industry.  This is a very hands-on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and results driven with good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.  A good working knowledge of till systems is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

Main Duties:

Cleaning/clearing tables
Pot wash
Serving customers
Basic food preparation
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness
Adhering to company policies

Skills required:

(1 x Full Time- 30 hours per week -including weekends)

(3 x Part Time – 12 hours per week - including weekends)

We are looking for three Restaurant Assistants who have a passion and flair for the restaurant
and catering industry.  This is a very hands-on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and have good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and will be expected to help out in all areas of the Restaurant.  Full training will be provided where necessary.

You will be required to work weekends and bank holiday.

Your responsibilities will include:

Till Operation
Cleaning tables
Taking customer orders
Washing up duties
Helping out in the kitchen
Serving customers

Skills required:

Good communication skills and able to work as part of a team
Work well under pressure
Professionalism and reliability

Excellent customer service skills
