Deputy Garden Centre Manager
Full Time 45 Hours Per Week – Fully flexible including Weekends
We are looking for a Deputy Garden Centre Manager to join our forward-thinking team. Working in the Garden Centre this is a high-volume environment with a fast turnaround.
The successful candidate should have proven managerial experience and be physically fit as this is a very hands-on role and some heavy lifting may be required.
A knowledge of plants would be a “nice to have” but is not essential to the role, however, excellent customer service and a high standard of visual merchandising is required as is previous retail management experience.

Requirements of the Role:
An inspirational leader for Centre staff ensuring that they receive clear direction and performance management within a culture of coaching and mentoring.
Highly commercial and results driven with a proven track record in a management position.
Positive and strong communicator and a skilled motivational people manager.
Accountable for providing great customer service and have a keen eye for detail around the consumers’ experience in the Centre.
A solution orientated thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
Good knowledge of Health & Safety standards.
Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Duties include:
Managing Garden Centre people resources
Forward planning of work schedule
Daily resource management to support effective customer service requirements
Deployment of the team to deliver excellent shop floor standards
Managing cash/till operations
Operational Audit for compliance in those areas
Key holder responsibilities to assist with opening and closing of the centres

Garden Centre Department Manager - Horticultural
Full Time – 45 Hours Per Week – Including Weekends

As a Plant Department Manager, you will manage, lead, inspire and develop an amazing team and ensuring all customers have a great in store experience.
What We Offer:

Rate of pay negotiable depending on experience.
Duties include:
Actively working in the daily horticultural tasks of the Centre.
Assisting the Centre Manager to maximise sales and profit by ensuring the efficient and effective management to Company standards, of the commerciality, merchandising, replenishment and housekeeping across the Garden Centre.
Establish and maintain high horticultural and retail standards.
Manage and support overall plant health within the Centre.
Lead and motivate the staff in their team.
Manage stock control of the department.
Support Centre Manager in daily H&S tasks and paperwork, ensuring Health & Safety standards are always adhered to and maintained.
Generate ideas and assist in the development of even better methods of working within the department.
Help to achieve a high standard of customer service.
Assist with complaints and queries from staff and customers.
Assist where needed with the recruitment, training, development, and individual performance of staff within the Centre to a high standard.
Carry out additional duties as and when required such as managing store and to attend events in the absence of the Centre Manger.
Assist when needed to plan and manage key events such as Christmas, Bank Holidays and Season Centre change effectively and efficiently.

Garden Centre Team Leader
Full Time 37.5 Fully Flexible – Including Weekends
