Welcome to Ramsgate Garden Centre, proud to be a part of the British Garden Centres family. Charles, Robert, Phillippa and the team look forward to seeing you soon.
A little bit of Ramsgate History...
About 30 years ago, the garden centre site used to be a greyhound track and market. Our warehouse still to this day houses the cages that the greyhounds would wait in before the races.
The garden centre is now known to be built on top of an old underground railway that took trains down to the main beach in Ramsgate, until they collapsed about 10 years ago (a lorry fell through our car park!). There are still existing tunnels that are currently being excavated to find out how far they extend and very recently, a small section of the wartime tunnels has been opened to the public for tours.
When you visit be sure to spot the large anchor, buoy and a coastal beacon in our car park! Our garden centre was designed to look like a ship, referencing our location near the Royal Port of Ramsgate.
Ramsgate Garden Centre is home to The Gardener's Retreat Restaurant. Upon the recent Government guidelines our restaurant will be temporarily closed, please follow our Facebook page for further updates.
