We have a great opportunity for an experienced Chef to join East Durham Garden Centre Restaurant. You will ensure our menus are prepared and served to the highest standards. You will play a fundamental part in ensuring that all food is well prepared and served in good time.
This role will require a minimum of 30 hours per week with plenty of opportunity to work overtime during busy periods. You must be able to work weekends and have a passion for providing high quality food in a fast-paced environment.
Skills required:
- Experience in working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and serving up a variety of dishes.
- Good understanding of HACCP, allergens, and portion control.
- Level 2 in Basic Food Hygiene.
- Must be able to remain calm under pressure.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Day to day running of the kitchen and ensuring that food is presented to a high standard.
- Monitoring of portion size and weight.
- Washing, Peeling and Chopping
- Helping to prepare salads and desserts
- Preparing of dishes on the menu and ensuring dishes are served in a timely manner.
- Completing relevant paperwork and ensuring records are updated as required.
