Plant Department Horticultural Assistant

We are currently seeking a candidate to join our horticultural team at Bold Heath Garden Centre.

Working in the plant area this is a high volume environment with fast a turnaround. The successful candidate should be physically fit as this is a very hands on role. A good knowledge of plants essential to the role as is good customer service and a high standard of visual merchandising.

The successful candidate will possess either a horticultural qualification will be in training or had practical horticultural experience, to include:

• Plant Identification
• Able to identify pests and diseases
• Knowledge of Plant Husbandry

The roles include a variety of tasks and include weekend work.

Goods-in Operative

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic customer focused person to join our team.  Reporting into the Warehouse Manager, this role will see the successful candidate take an active role in both the stores goods in function of the business, checking goods received against delivery notes as well as assisting in the general up keep and maintenance of the site.

Key Responsibilities:

• To check goods in against delivery notes for accuracy and damages
• Notify the relevant Department via the Delivery Note of any shortages
• Notify relevant Department of any damaged goods received and place in the Quarantine section, awaiting further instruction
• Assist when required with the physical movement of stock from the Goods In area to the warehouse and/or packing and putting away stock.
• Ensure all stock movements are accurately recorded.
• Stock control.
• Inventory stability and reduction.
• Other related tasks where appropriate.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Attention to detail
• Ability to work to procedures
• Good communicator
• PC literate with good administration skills
• Previous experience within a goods in/material inspection capacity.
• Experience in manual handling.
• Ability to prioritise workload
• Flexible and trustworthy
• Driving Licence advantageous but not essential

• Alphabetically and numerically literate

Chef / Cook

(Full Time inc Weekends)

We are looking for a person with a passion and flair for the restaurant and catering industry. This is a very hands on role as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and results driven with good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast paced environment. Experience in a similar role in a similar environment is essential. A good working knowledge of till systems is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Prepare, cook and present food quickly and efficiently to a high standard
• Work safely around the kitchen equipment
• Maintain accurate food ordering and stock levels
• Assist in keeping the kitchen clean, hygienic and tidy at all times
• Monitor portion size and waste

 

Skills needed:

• Cooking
• Excellent communications skills and able to work as part of a team
• Professionalism and reliability
• Good time management
• Level 2 basic food hygiene
 
Job Type:

The successful candidate must be able to cover shifts and be able to adapt to both kitchen and front of house when needed. What can we offer you?
