Seasonal Assistants

(2x Part Time – 16 hours per week – including weekends)

Temporary contract for 12 weeks

We are currently looking for two Seasonal Assistants to join our large Garden Centre Group. As an integral part of the team you will work in all areas of the Centre.  You will be required to assist through Autumn and into our Christmas launch. The successful candidates should be physically fit as this is a very hands on role. Experience in retail is desirable to the role as is good customer service, however, full training will be provided where necessary.  Would suit someone who loves the Christmas spirit!

Duties include:

Pricing, displaying & merchandising a variety of products
Assisting customers with their purchases
Till operation
Plant care and maintenance
Plant watering
General housekeeping
Quality customer service

 Requirements of the role:

You will have a right first-time approach and a can-do attitude

Good communication skills and able to work as part of a team
Work well under pressure
Professionalism and reliability
Good time management
Excellent customer service skills
Highly motivated and enthusiastic with a drive to succeed

Front of House Assistants

(Part Time –16 hours per week – Including weekends)

We are looking for a Front of House Assistant who have a passion and flair for the restaurant
and catering industry.  This is a very hands on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and results driven with good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast paced environment.

Previous experience in a similar role in a similar environment would be an advantage.  Also a good working knowledge of till systems is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

Duties include:

Till operation
Serving customers
Kitchen duties
Making hot drinks
Washing up

Skills required:

Excellent customer service skills
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness
Adhering to company policies
Able to work on own initiative or as part of a team

Kitchen Assistant

(Part Time – 16 hours per week – including weekends)

 We are looking for a part time Kitchen Assistant who has a passion and flair for the restaurant and catering industry.  This is a very hands-on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and results driven with good communication skills. Main Duties:

 General kitchen duties

Cleaning/clearing tables
Pot wash
Serving customers
Basic food preparation
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness
Adhering to company policies

Skills required:

Level 2 Basic Food and Hygiene
Able to work on own initiative or as part of a team
Good communication skills
Professional and reliable
Remain calm under pressure
Fully flexible with days and hours worked to meet business needs
Experience working in a busy kitchen

Goods In Assistant

(Full Time – 30 hours per week – including weekends)

Temporary

We are currently looking for Goods in Assistant to work in this fast paced and very customer focused Centre. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, approachable and have excellent people skills with a positive “can do” attitude plus a keen eye for detail.

This is a very hands-on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and have good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.  The successful candidate should be physically fit as some heaving lifting may be required.  Previous work with forklifts would also be an advantage.

Duties include:

To check goods in against delivery notes for accuracy and damages
Notify the relevant Department via the Delivery Note of any shortages
Notify relevant Department of any damaged goods received and place in the Quarantine section, awaiting further instruction
Assist when required with the physical movement of stock from the Goods In area to the warehouse and/or packing and putting away stock
Ensure all stock movements are accurately recorded
Stock take and stock control
Perform deliveries
Booking in deliveries to the Centre

Knowledge and Skills:

Must have previous relevant experience
Good attention to detail
Methodical and able to work at pace
Ability to work to procedures
Good communicator
PC literate with good administration skills
Experienced in manual handling
Ability to prioritise workload
Flexible and trustworthy
Alphabetically and numerically literate
Must be flexible in terms of hours and days worked as may be required to work some weekends
