Assistant Restaurant Manager

(Full Time – 40 hours per week – including weekends)

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager with both a passion for creating excellent food and the organisational skills to successfully run a busy restaurant and kitchen. The successful candidate will be both a positive and creative individual, who has a passion and an ability for creating good food and promoting excellent customer service. You must be enthusiastic and wish to pro-actively develop the business. This is a hands-on role where teamwork and communication is vital.

As the Assistant Restaurant Manager, you must be highly organised, results driven and have excellent overall front of house and kitchen management competencies.

Duties Include:

Manage team of staff
Staff Rotas
Stock rotation and ordering
Food Hygiene
Menu planning
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and adhering to our strict company policy
Maintain excellent standards of guest service.
Maintain and monitor the highest standards of hygiene and Health & Safety in accordance with all statutory, legal and company requirements.

Requirements of the Role:

 Level 2 basic food hygiene
Thorough understanding of allergens and food safety
Excellent communication skills and able to work as part of a team
Knowledge of HACCP
Professionalism and reliability
Remains calm under pressure
Good time management

Weekend Front of House Assistant

(Part Time – 10 hours per week)

We are looking for a person  who has a passion and flair for the restaurant and catering industry.  This is a very hands on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and results driven with good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast paced environment.

Previous experience in a similar role in a similar environment is desired.  A good working knowledge of till systems is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

Duties include:

Welcoming guests to the Restaurant
Ensuring that Covid-19 guidelines are maintained
Waiting tables
Taking customer orders
Serving food
Making hot drinks
Till operation
Cash handling
Clearing and cleaning duties
Washing up duties
Helping out in the kitchen

Skills required:

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness
Adhering to company policies

Front of House/Catering Assistants

(Full Time or Part Time Positions Available)

We are looking for two Assistants who have a passion and flair for the restaurant and catering industry.  This is a very hands on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and results driven with good communication skills. Previous experience in a similar role is not necessary however, you should have a “can do” attitude and enjoy working in a customer service environment.

Chef

 (1 x Part Time – 16 hours per week – including weekends)

(1 x Full Time – 32 hours per week – including weekends)

We are looking for 2 people with a passion and flair for the restaurant and catering industry. This is a very hands on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and results driven with good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast paced environment. Experience in a similar role in a similar environment is essential. A good working knowledge of till systems is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

Duties include:

Prepare, cook and present food quickly and efficiently to a high standard
Work safely around the kitchen equipment
Maintain accurate food ordering and stock levels
Assist in keeping the kitchen clean, hygienic and tidy at all times
Monitor portion size and waste

Skills needed:

Experience of working in a busy kitchen
Excellent communication skills and able to work as part of a team
Creative at making dishes but also able to work to specs
Baking cakes and other home bakes would be an advantage
Knowledge of HACCP
Experience with carvery
Able to manage multiple orders
Professionalism and reliability
Remains calm under pressure
Good time management
Level 2 basic food hygiene

Job Type:

The successful candidate must be able to cover shifts and be able to adapt to both kitchen and front of house when needed.  As a family run business we understand the importance of work/ life balance so our working hours for cooks mean no evening work or split shifts are required.

Plant Supervisor

(Full Time – 40 hours per week - including weekends)

We are currently seeking a candidate to join our horticultural team at Tansley Barn Garden Centre.

Working in the plant area this is a high volume environment with a fast turnaround. The successful candidate should be physically fit as this is a very hands on role and some heavy lifting may be required. A good knowledge of plants is essential to the role as is good customer service and a high standard of visual merchandising.

Knowledge and experience of plants/horticulture is essential to the role.

Main Duties:

Managing a team of staff
Planning staff rotas.
Plant maintenance and care
Pricing, displaying & merchandising a variety of products
Giving guidance and advice to customers with their purchases
Adhering to company policies.
Quality customer service
General daily housekeeping

Skills required:

Good communication skills and able to work as part of a team
Work well under pressure

Good time management
