Head Chef

(Full Time – 40 hours per week - including weekends)

We are looking for a Head Chef with both a passion for creating excellent food and the organisational skills to successfully run a busy kitchen. You must be enthusiastic and wish to proactively develop the growing business. Previous experience of kitchen supervisory is essential. This is a hands on role where team work and communication is vital as you will be in charge of a small team.

As Head Chef you must be highly organised, results driven and have excellent overall kitchen management competencies.  The successful candidate must be able to cover shifts and be able to adapt to both kitchen and front of house when needed.

You will be required to work weekends and bank holidays, but benefits from no split shifts or evening work.

Duties include:

Stock rotation and ordering
Managing the team
Duty Manager in Restaurant Manager’s absence
Food Hygiene
Menu planning
Costing and maintaining the company food GP
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and adhering to our strict company policy

Skills required:

Experience of working in a busy kitchen
Thorough understanding of allergens and food safety
Excellent communication skills and able to work as part of a team
Creative at making dishes but also able to work to specs
Knowledge of HACCP
Able to manage multiple orders
Professionalism and reliability
Remains calm under pressure
Good time management
Level 2 basic food hygiene

General Assistant

(2 x Part Time – 20 hours per week – including weekends)

We are currently looking for 2 General Assistants to join our large Garden Centre Group. As an integral part of the team you will work in all areas of the Centre.  The successful candidate should be physically fit as this is a very hands on role and you may be required to lift heavy items. Experience in retail is desirable to the role as is good customer service, however, full training will be provided where necessary.

Duties include:

Pricing, displaying & merchandising a variety of products
Replenishing stock.
Assisting customers with their purchases
Till operation
General housekeeping
Quality customer service

Requirements of the role:

You will have a right first-time approach and a can-do attitude
Good communication skills and able to work as part of a team
Work well under pressure
Professionalism and reliability
Good time management
Excellent customer service skills
Highly motivated and enthusiastic with a drive to succeed

Till Assistant

(2 x Part Time – 10 hours per week –weekend working)

 We are currently looking for 2 Till Assistants to work in our fast paced and very customer focused Centre. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, approachable and have excellent people skills with a positive “can do” attitude plus a keen eye for detail.

This is a very hands on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and have good communication skills. Previous retail/customer service experience preferred, however full training will be provided where necessary.

Duties Include:

Till operation
Taking Cash and Card Payments
Assisting customers with their purchases
Quality customer service.
General housekeeping and maintaining a tidy Till area
Order stock/produce from local suppliers

Front of House Assistant with Barista Experience

(Part Time – 25-30 hours per week – including weekends)

We are looking for a Front of House Assistant with Barista experience who have a passion and flair for the restaurant and catering industry.  This is a very hands on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and results driven with good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast paced environment.

Previous experience in a similar role in a similar environment is essential.

You will need to be fully flexible as this will involve weekend and bank holiday working.

Duties include:

Waiting tables
Taking customer orders
Serving food
Making hot drinks
Till operation
Clearing and cleaning duties
Adhering to company policies

Skills required:

Excellent customer service skills
Able to work on own initiative or as part of a team
Good communication skills

Experience using a coffee machine
Fully flexible with days and hours worked to meet business needs

 Chef/Cook

 (2 x Part Time – 30-35 hours per week – including weekends)

We are looking for 2 Chef/Cooks with a passion and flair for the restaurant and catering industry. This is a very hands on role and as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and results driven with good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast paced environment. Experience in a similar role in a similar environment is essential. A good working knowledge of till systems is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

Duties include:

Prepare, cook and present food quickly and efficiently to a high standard
Work safely around the kitchen equipment
Maintain accurate food ordering and stock levels
Assist in keeping the kitchen clean, hygienic and tidy at all times
Monitor portion size and waste

Skills needed:

Experience of working in a kitchen
Thorough understanding of allergens and food safety
Excellent communication skills and able to work as part of a team
Creative at making dishes but also able to work to specs
Baking cakes and other home bakes would be an advantage
Knowledge of HACCP
Able to manage multiple orders
Professionalism and reliability
Remains calm under pressure
Good time management
Level 2 basic food hygiene
