Duties will include:
• Till Operator
• Compost Sales
• Shop Floor Sales
• Answering the phone and dealing with customer enquiries
• Pricing, displaying & merchandising of a variety of products
• Quality customer service.
• General Daily Housekeeping
• Stoneware and Pots Merchandising

The successful candidate will be:
• Positive and strong communicator and a skilled motivational people person.
• Accountable for providing great customer service and have a keen eye for detail around the
customers experience in the centre.

Online Store / Website Manager
Full time 40 Hours
British Garden Centres is currently recruiting for a talented and bright Online Store/Website
Manager to work in our warehouse.

British Garden Centres is the proud owner of 10 garden centres throughout the UK. Part of our
portfolio includes an online store. We are looking to further develop the online store and manage
it alongside the Amazon and Ebay platforms.

About the Role of the Online Store / Website Manager

The Online Store Manager is primarily responsible for driving the online store forward and

turning it into a profitable part of the business. Ensuring that all online orders are correctly

picked, assembled and despatched to customers in a timely manner, working from our

warehouse. This is very hands on role so it includes both online store management and product

picking, packing and the organisation of distribution.

Duties and responsibilities (include but not limited to)

• Experience in warehousing /website management

• Experience in Stock Control and Stock Taking

• Very structured and organised – able to prioritise the workload

• Ensuring that all dispatch paperwork systems are completed and reports to the owner

• Ability to assist in the organisation warehouse layout for improved efficiency

• Manage the stock movement – reduce shrinkage

• Manage returns and refunds

Skills

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and WordPress / Woo Commerce

• Flexible and positive work ethic

• Must be able to plan and manage peak periods

• Must be able to work weekends when required

Warehouse Manager

About the Role of the Warehouse Manager

Ensuring that all online orders are correctly picked, assembled and despatched to centres in a timely manner, working from our warehouse. This is very hands on role so it includes stock management, product picking, packing and the organisation of distribution.

• Responsible for process review and continuous improvement.

• Ability to assist in the organisation warehouse layout for improved efficiency.

Skills:
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office in particular Excel.

Cook/Kitchen Assistant
Full Time Permanent

This is a full time permanent position in a busy Garden Centre Restaurant.
We are looking for a person with a passion and flair for creating good quality, honest home cooked food.

This is a very hands on role as such you will need to be proactive, highly motivated, organised and results driven with good communication skills. You will be working as part of a team in a fast paced environment.

Previous experience of short order cooking would be advantageous, along with an understanding of how a busy kitchen functions.

Skills required:
• Understanding of stock rotation and ordering
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness
• Adhering to company policies in line with current Food Hygiene requirements
• Awareness of profitability and portion control & wastage control
• Basic understanding of menu planning

You will be required to work weekends and bank holidays, however there will be no split shifts or evenings work.

Warehouse Assistant

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic person to join our warehouse team at British Garden Centres.

Reporting into the Warehouse Manager, this role will see the successful candidate take an active role checking goods received against delivery notes as well as assisting in the general up keep and maintenance of the warehouse. Includes picking orders and distribution to garden centres.

Key Responsibilities
• Overseeing goods receiving and processing orders.
• Oversee Stock control.
• Adhere to Health and Safety regulations, policies and procedures.
• Other related tasks where appropriate.
